Work Principle of Empty Flash Column

Cleaning of Empty Flash Column
The choice of solvent is perhaps the most difficult in the whole column chromatographic separation operation and the most critical to the success of the experiment. Solvents are usually screened by simple silica gel TLC. In most cases, cleaning of the flash column is a complicated procedure, you have to pour out the remaining solvent, but this process is troublesome and extremely easy to cause environmental pollution.
By using the vacuum pump, the remaining solvent is decompressed, and a pumping device is installed between the flash column and the vacuum pump, which can effectively clean the remaining solvent in the flash column without polluting the environment.
